My husband and I had an awesome experience with RJ and his team, who trained our 3 Year old hound, Beretta. Our pup is kind and energetic, but got a little too excited and we had issues controlling her outside the home. We opted for the 2 week adult program and got back a totally different (and well mannered) dog! We can not thank RJ enough!

RJ and his staff are absolutely amazing! We’ve done two private sessions and one group lesson so far, and both our dog and we have learned so much already. They are incredibly patient—not just with the dogs, but with us as owners too—and their knowledge really shows in everything they do.

During our group lesson, Jay worked with us closely and he was fantastic! As someone who is new to both owning a bigger dog and to training, I felt completely comfortable being a novice. They created a supportive environment where I could ask questions, make mistakes, and learn without any judgment.

I can’t recommend K9RJ Training enough. We’re already excited to continue with more lessons and keep building on everything we’ve learned!

We had an amazing experience working with RJ to train our pittbull, Hera. From the very beginning, RJ was incredibly patient, communicative, and clearly has a natural talent when it comes to working with dogs. Hera immediately took to him, and we saw noticeable improvements in her behavior and confidence with every session.
RJ took the time to explain each step of the training process, always making sure we understood what to do and why it worked. He was never rushed, always encouraging, and made the whole experience enjoyable—not just for Hera, but for us too.

RJ seriously changed everything for me and my dog (pitbull terrior). Before training, walks were a nightmare. He’d pull nonstop, bark at every dog, jump on people. I couldn’t take him anywhere or be around company without stressing.

After the board and train, it’s like I have a different dog. He stays in a perfect heel the whole time. We went to the beach, Dogs and people everywhere, and he didn’t even react. I laid down in the water and he just laid next to me, completely calm.

I can finally take him out in public without worry. The progress he made in just a few sessions is insane. 100% worth it RJ knows what he’s doing.

I can’t recommend RJ enough for dog training! My dog, Bear, was extremely aggressive toward both people and other dogs. In just the first visit, RJ taught Bear basic commands, and over the following sessions, Bear’s behavior improved significantly. By the end of the training, Bear could reliably follow commands and interact calmly with other dogs—something I never thought was possible.

RJ’s method was structured and effective. He explained every step of the process, debriefed me after each session, and provided clear guidance on how to continue Bear’s progress at home. What stood out most was RJ’s confidence and expertise. He even introduced Bear to his own dog as part of the training, which helped immensely with socialization.

RJ had initially told me that Bear would need about 12 visits to fully overcome his aggressive tendencies, but Bear achieved that milestone by the 9th visit! The results have been incredible. I’m now much more confident when taking Bear out in public.

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and professional trainer to address anything from basic obedience to serious behavioral issues, RJ is the one to call. Highly recommend!

RJ did a great job with our little ball of energy. We were amazed at how much progress he made with her in just a short time. He took the time to train us as well so we will remain consistent with her training and understand what commands to give and how to react to her responses. She still has plenty of energy; however, she is much better at controlling her reactions to other animals and follows commands very well.

We highly recommend RJ if you are looking for a trainer for your furry companion. You may also learn something as well.

RJ was excellent. I choose the option with boarding.Trained my dog for my specific goals, off leash training, heel, avoiding distractions in public and more. I would get daily updates and videos on my dog’s progress, which I appreciated greatly. On weekends I would meet with him for my training on handling my dog. He shows passion for the work he does and cares that the owners also learn to keep and perfect the progress made. I choose him because his prices are fair and he works for what your goals, needs are and not just a fixed program which is what I’ve seen in other training places.

My dogs are 9 month old golden retriever lab mixes. Just 3 weeks ago, they jumped, lunged, climbed over fences, bit my friend’s hair and were overall incredibly disobedient. We sent them to RJ for the intermediate training coarse and he has worked miracles!
They are now able to sit, lay down, come, walk as a pair on leash, walk off-leash and more. He has also worked with them in public settings, teaching them to listen even when they’re in a busy and unknown environment. Thank you, RJ for what you’ve done with Mabel and Fred. We don’t even recognize them and we couldn’t be happier with their results,

RJ trained my dog my dog picked up his skills extremely fast! He is very efficient and definitely knows what he is doing ! Since my training my dog has been exceptionally good with all her basic manners.. don’t let me start talking about her off leash training it’s also great !! RJ has opened my dog up from her shell making her more exposed to people and dogs she is now more open to being around new people and dogs and I thank RJ for that ! I 10/10 recommend!!

I really liked the approach RJ uses when training. He was not forceful or impatient and used a lot of praise and enthusiasm to train our German shepherds. When giving corrections they were subtle and not harsh using just the right amount needed for the dogs to learn but not be afraid. We learned a lot and I feel confident we can take what we learned from RJ and put it into practice to have a better understanding and bond with our dogs. I look forward to continuing our education with RJ and would highly recommend him to anyone that is need of good training not only for obedience but for protection or service dog training as well. You will definitely benefit from RJ’s training.

I can’t put it into words how amazing RJ did with my dog Jelly! She was a rescue with really bad reaction problems.

I started with a dog that would growl and I couldn’t trust her around other dogs.
I finished with a dog that I can take on walks, hikes, farmer markets, and on a plane!

We cannot be more pleased with RJ!! He is a superb trainer (and instructor of doggie parents, too). Finnlea has blossomed under RJ’s one-on-one/private sessions, growing from agitated/defensive pup to self-confident, tolerant, and loving pup. In a month, he has taught Finnlea an unbelievable number of behaviors and commands — things we never imagined that she could learn. We now enjoy taking Finnlea out to social, noisy settings with confidence, and are very excited to put what we learned this past month into practice. RJ, your caring professionalism and amazing ability to see what Finnlea needed and what we needed has opened the door to a greater and deeper relationship with her. We contacted five dog trainers and RJ was the only one who returned our message. We contacted him in October about our dog who is aggressive before, during, and after eating to the point of hurting herself. RJ called in response to our email and gave free advice. RJ said to try feeding her in her kennel. Now we feed the dog in her kennel as part of our new program. We move her kennel to a neutral space in the house to feed her in her kennel with direct light shining in since she is partially blind. After each feeding the kennel is wiped down thoroughly. If she starts to get aggressive we pull out the vacuum and sit it next to her kennel. It breaks the connection for negative behavior. We turn the vacuum on/off for a quick second to settle her if just the sight does not settle her.
Thank you for the advice and time you took to speak with us. We were on the verge of giving up and putting her down.
Our pup no longer attacks herself or us at feeding time. Thank you for saving her!

We enrolled our two rambunctious poodle puppies in RJ’s puppy obedience 2 week board and train program. RJ was very thorough with us & asked us what were our main concerns & goals for the puppies. Jumping was #1, no pulling on a leash was #2, and to come when called was #3. Anything else was icing on the cake for us, since they are just young puppies we weren’t sure exactly how much they would retain. RJ would send us pictures, and video updates throughout their stay and the boarding center staff were terrific in keeping us updated with pictures and good morning texts! The real excitement came when time to pick them up and we were astounded at their progress and learning! They achieved all the goals we had for them and more! They learned down stay, and recall from a long long way away! How to fetch! And the start of using potty bells to alert us when they need to go outside!! When we picked them up RJ went through everything they learned and taught us how to continue at home, including sharing with us the tools we could purchase to help us with their daily practice! We will be using him again when the puppies reach around a year old to learn more intermediate skills then! Don’t hesitate to give RJ a call for your dog obedience needs! I must say, this has been a fantastic experience! RJ is the nicest guy and sooooo good with the dogs and owners. He’s so patient and teaches you how to properly handle your dog in order to continue their training at home. My Sascha is a bundle of energy and had been so high maintenance my husband didn’t want to be around her. When I brought her home for the first break, he was amazed and at one point asked me what had RJ done to her? She wasn’t all hyper all the time. It was amazing. I would recommend RJ to anyone! You and your dog will be much happier if you do!!!

Our 10 month old German Shepherd mix was so hard to handle; he would drag me around and not listen to a word I said most days. After 2 months of obedience training, the difference is astounding. He comes at the first mention of his name, he can walk off leash in public and crowded areas, and is still the same sweet boy he was before training! Would highly recommend RJ to anyone needing obedience training.

RJ was awesome with my two pit mixed they are 1 1/2 years old they were aggressive and would not walk on leash attacked vehicles, golf carts and would just be aggressive towards people! It is like night and day RJ sent photos texts and called he took care of my dogs with love and professionalism I take my dogs in stores now and to work in my office and it is wonderful it truly gave me peace of mind would highly recommend him to anyone!

We have at heart to give the best life to our puppy, and we aim to train him as a service dog. We had some struggles with him being a bitty powerhouse with a streak of stubbornness. As much as he is a sweetheart, we felt we were not enjoying him as much as we could. It was difficult to have him away from home for a couple of weeks, but RJ helped us tremendously to get ready and as soon as he made contact with our puppy a weight lifted off our chests as we saw the immediate connection he made with him. Right away, RJ greeted him playfully, then trained him daily sharing with us pictures, videos, and comments on our puppy’s progress. We picked up a more grounded, attentive, and affectionate puppy. He is way more at ease with other dogs and listens to commands even with high levels of distraction. Our quality of life is exponentially improved. We strongly recommend RJ. He did a stellar job with our puppy, and we are infinitely thankful for the staggeringly positive difference he made in our lives.

We used K9RJ to train our 20 week Malinois puppy. We chose the 2 week Puppy Inboard training program to give our puppy a solid training foundation and address some problem behaviors. RJ did a wonderful job with her. From the moment we met him we knew he had a special talent with dogs. Our puppy barked and growled at every stranger she even saw but not RJ. She took to him right away and he had great success with all the issues we had discussed plus laid a great training foundation for us going forward. Very pleased with how she was returned to us. We would definitely use RJ again when we have a need for professional dog training.

We had 2 german shepherds go see RJ for his month off leash training. We are currently get our lessons as owners now but you can definitely see the difference in the dogs. I feel more confident in being able to take them in public, or just walks around the block together. RJ posts pictures and update videos of their progress which was great to see them in action as they grew.(:

Rj has had my puppy Malinois for a couple weeks for his first puppy training. I am not a trainer but can follow directions from a trainer. RJ took my puppy who would have trouble coming to me, letting go of a ball, and being basically a rambunctious puppy and now he will return to me, play fetch and actually drop a ball, and is in general just a easier to handle puppy now. Looking forward to his next level of training.

If you need a dog trained for personal protection or obedience training, RJ Hoppie is absolutely, absolutely the person you must use!! We have had 3 dogs trained and they are specimens of obedience. 2 Belgian Malinous’ and 1 German Shorthair Pointer. The pointer for obedience not hunting.
His love of animals and the desire for them to be obedient for their owner is his drive for excellence!! He will love your pet and your pet will love him.

Our 1-year-old pup was struggling to walk well on a leash. When we would take her to the farmer’s market or on walks she would bark and lunge at other people/dogs. We just didn’t have a good handle on her in public despite doing pet store training and in-home training (through a different company) from a young age. She also struggled with barking at neighbors’ dogs through the fence and digging holes. She wouldn’t always come when called which was a safety concern for us. After picking her up from RJ’s 4 week board & train program, we are blown away!! We loved his format. At the end of the 4 weeks, Hazel was trained very well. But of course, we still needed to be trained ourselves in how to handle her! We loved that he took 2 days (about a 2 hour session each day) to teach us everything he taught her so that we would feel comfortable maintaining all of his hard work once home. We feel confident leaving the 2 sessions that we can replicate the amazing results that RJ has gotten with our pup. We met at a park and then at a Home Depot and PetSmart to practice her commands. She was complimented so many times at the stores on her stellar behavior. We are so excited to take her to the farmer’s market and on walks around our town now!! She was an Angel in the stores and so different from how she used to behave around people/dogs. You can tell RJ really loves the dogs he works with and treats them well, and he maintains contact with you throughout the board & train via texts and phone calls and pictures/videos so you know your pup is progressing well and is happy and safe. That was a big comfort to me with her being gone for so long! RJ made it clear as well that he is only a phone call away if we have any concerns or questions moving forward. Would definitely recommend him to train your pup!!

We recently moved to Bay county and our pack of four were having several issues. They eventually escalated into our shiba inu, Tofu, becoming straight up violent and routinely attacking our other two boy dogs. I was at my wits end when RJ answered an email I sent as a last resort. We met and discussed the behaviors and what our expectations of training were. Tofu spent a month with RJ doing inboard training and came back 100% a different, much better family member. Tofu is stubborn and determined. He would mind, but it was always reluctantly. After spending his time with RJ, tofu came back home milder mannered, ready to behave and be a good boy again. We had some issues in the first couple days where he tried to push boundaries like RJ had warned us would happen. RJ did some in home sessions with us and helped us get the pack on track again. Tofu hasn’t been aggressive since those first few days back home, almost two months ago! He has immediate recall, even off leash in the backyard. He is so well behaved and we wouldn’t have that without RJ. Thanks for everything, friend!

RJ did an amazing job with our 10 month old Belgian Malinois. She is a completely different dog. She walks on the leash calmly, is no longer triggered by cars, people or dogs walking by. She will sit, lay down and stay for extended periods of time and recall when we want. She is a dream!!!

My husband and I adopted a one year old mixed breed dog. She had some problems in the first few months being social. We enrolled her in K9Rj Dog Training for 2 week in board training. We took her to dinner tonight at an outdoor restaurant. She sat still as other people walked by. No barking was great. She comes when called and now lets me answer the door without barking and running out door. We are beyond happy with our results. We highly recommend this business.

My husband and I were not on same page when it came to Handling our dogs.We did many things wrong.
Our youngest German Shepard thought she was the Boss. She and Our other dogs starting fighting and they all 3 started not following our commands well. It was chaos.
It was getting stressful for us and for our dogs.
We were watching videos, trying to get on the same page and have peace in our home. Nothing was working for us. After researching Dog trainers/handlers We decided on RJ. He came to our home the next day. He was so good with our dogs, he found the issues and gave us assignments. He was patient and very kind.
We feel so relieved and very confident that RJ is here for us as owners as well as here for our fur babies. Now that RJ has done his work with us, I strongly feel confident that our dogs will be able to get on track. We as owners are relieved and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We thought we may have to re-home. We now know that if we put in the work and stay committed, We will be able to keep and love all 4 of our fur babies. He took my sweet Posie Mae without knowing anything. How to even sit. She was uncontrollable, aggressive, no manners whatsoever. Rj helped her overcome all these things and she is a new dog! I am in absolute awe. I highly recommend going to this guy for any of your needs or concerns with your pup. He is the dog whisperer I swear. When I lost all hope with my pup he saved the day! I would recommend RJ for dog training. He is was very informative. He worked with us for about 2 hrs. He helped us see what was happening with our dog’s behavior and how we could fix it. Rj did a wonderful job with my boxer mix! She’s a very high energy hard to control dog and with just 4 sessions i feel way more confident taking her out on her leash around other people and dogs knowing that I can control her now. Before training she wouldn’t listen at all when she was on leash and now with a simple command she is walking or sitting right by my side. Getting her to sit and lay down and stay is a million times easier now too. Can’t imagine my crazy girl listens now but rj did a fantastic job with her and even snapped a couple great pics of her! He was very patient and helpful throughout every session to I would definitely give a 10/10

I drove 18 hours round trip to the Florida Panhandle to get my boy Mako. This is where I had my first experience with Gatorland K9 and the owners son RJ. They gave me a 45 minute demonstration of their 2 year old Sako, fully trained in police and military techniques. I was blown away with what I witnessed. As Mako began to mature and experience testosterone, He was getting to be a bit of a wild man. I have always trained my Dobermans by myself, but Malinois are a different story. I was fortunate to see RJ had moved to West Palm Beach. I contacted him and asked about training. In a very short period of time, RJ had made a complete turn around with my buddy Mako. Dog training also includes training the owner and yes I learned alot. His rates are very reasonable and he has a unique way of mentally connecting with the dog. It’s kind of amazing to see. So, I give RJ 5 out of 5 stars and recommend him to anyone.
